Wilmington, NC -What's Happening this Weekend - Zombies, Restaurants and Lifestyle tour

Wilmington Downtown Inc. is having their first annual “Downtown Lifestyle Tour” this Saturday. The event has been promoted through, print, web and radio. Tickets are $10 and have been selling well. The weather will be beautiful and they expect to sell more tickets Saturday morning for a great crowd. There are 15 properties on tour: including the 13,000 sq ft. loft space formerly owned by Dennis Hopper. Most of the tour sites are cool urban spaces that people say, “I never knew this was here!” when they see them. A few of the tour sites are for sale, like a Tanyard Parish listings, but most are occupied homes. Don't miss this uber cool tour on Saturday.

3rd Annual Zombe Walk will take place on Saturday, October 23. from 3-6 pm. Begins at the Brown Coat Pub and theatre at 111 Grace street. Adults and children are invited but each child shouldbe accompanied by one adult. WILMINGTON, NC- WHERE TO FIND A PUMPKIN

Don't have a pumpkin, yet? Well there are plenty of places in Wilmington to find a pumpkin. Some are :

Wesley Memorial Church on S. College Road - have a multitude of pumpkins for pumpkins lookers of all ages. Some are even decorated for you...

On Market St or HWY 17 in Porters Neck there is a vendor on the right side of the road selling pumpkins. The folks selling pumpkins even are staying in a trailer in the parking lot. So you probably can get a pumpkin anytime if you want one. Pumpkins are even available for $ 5.00. I got one for $5.00 and there was a great selection in that price range. Don't let price stop you from getting a pumpkin.

In Scotts Hill there is a farm stand selling pumpkins.

Also on lower Market Street the PORT CITY Farm stand has pumpkins. Also I think there are pumpkins on the farm stands on Oleander and the one in Oleander Oaks. So all over Wilmington - you can find a pumpkin...for a very affordable price.

4 Tips for Setting the Right Sales Price

A recent article in the Washington Post brings up helpful points for selling in our current market. Selling property can be a challenge when sellers think their homes are worth more than their real estate professional, and buyers think these same homes are worth even less. By taking these basic factors into consideration and setting the price accordingly, the chances of selling increase.
How many homes are for sale in the neighborhood? The more homes on the market, the more important it is to list at the lower end of the scale.
Take short sales and foreclosures into consideration when pricing. If the competing properties are in lousy condition, they are less of an issue, but if they are well taken care of, yet priced 25 percent below market, they can be a serious factor.
Negotiate decisively. Minimize the back and forth.
Cut the price when you have to. If no one shows up for an open house; if no one calls; and if there are no offers, then the price is too high. That means it's time to make a meaningful price cut.

Average days on the market - 134

List to sold ration is 93% and is down .60% from last month; this number needs to get better.

The number of houses that sold in 15 days or less continues to remain very low, 13.8% of September sold homes.

The 30 year fixed rate mortgage averated 4.27 % with an average 0.8 points for the week ending October 7, 2010. We are now hitting historic lows in mortgage rates.

The Physical

An 80 year old man goes for a physical. All of his tests come back with normal results.

The doctor says, "George, everything looks great. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with God?"

George replies, "God and I are tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so He's fixed it so when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, poof!The light goes on. When I'm done, poof! The light goes off.

"Wow, that's incredible," the doctor says.

A little later in the day, the doctor calls George's wife. "Ethel," he says,

"George is doing fine! But I had to call you because I'm in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night, and poof! the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done, poof! the light goes off?"

"Oh sweet Jesus" exclaims Ethel. "He's peeing in the refrigerator again!
